An outdoor kitchen and bespoke fire pit table in Birmingham

Stone is not just for the living room. This Castle Bromwich project brought cooking, dining and relaxing together in one garden, with a bespoke outdoor kitchen and a matching fire pit dining table made for outdoor entertaining.

The project combined a made-to-measure outdoor kitchen with integrated sink and a matching eight-seat dining table with an integrated gas fire. The material used was an outdoor terrazzo, which Emily’s supplied case study copy confirms has now been discontinued.

The local setting

Castle Bromwich is part of Birmingham, and this project is useful local proof for customers looking beyond indoor fireplaces. Instead of a living-room focal point, the brief was to create a garden entertaining space where the outdoor kitchen, dining table and fire all felt connected.

It also shows why sequencing matters on larger outdoor pieces. The dining table was the biggest and heaviest part of the project, so it had to be placed before the veranda limited access. That practical order came directly from the project and helped the later kitchen installation go in cleanly.

The brief

The customer wanted a complete outdoor entertaining space that could be used throughout the year. Alongside a bespoke outdoor kitchen, they also wanted a matching dining table with an integrated gas fire to create a social space for family and friends.

The key requirement was that the pieces worked together. The table could not feel separate from the kitchen, and the kitchen had to be practical as well as visually tied into the wider garden setting.

Made to measure

We manufactured a bespoke outdoor kitchen and matching eight-seat dining table using a terrazzo material designed for outdoor use. As the table was the largest and heaviest part of the project, it was installed first while there was still plenty of space to manoeuvre it into position.

A couple of weeks later, once the new veranda had been completed, we returned to install the made-to-measure outdoor kitchen. The kitchen included an integrated sink and dedicated space for the customer’s barbecue, so the finished area supported cooking as well as dining.

The finish

The finished space brings cooking, dining and relaxing together in one cohesive design. The table gives the garden a social centre, while the integrated gas fire adds the feature the customer wanted for sitting around the table.

Although this particular terrazzo is now discontinued, the project shows how bespoke outdoor kitchens and matching furniture can be tailored around the garden and the customer’s chosen outdoor material.
