Which furniture route suits you?

A stone dining table suits a kitchen, dining room or open-plan space where the table is used every day and needs to feel substantial. Coffee and side tables suit living rooms where you want the same stone language as a fireplace or worktop without making the room feel heavy. Outdoor tables suit patios, garden rooms and terraces where the furniture needs to cope with normal outdoor use.

Fire pit tables and cubes are different again. They use bioethanol, so there is no flue, chimney or gas bottle. They are chosen as much for atmosphere as for furniture, and work best when the size, position and surrounding seating are thought through before ordering. If you are not sure which route suits the room, start with the main furniture categories and then compare samples.

Materials, finishes and the showroom

The furniture range uses porcelain, indoor quartz, and terrazzo on selected outdoor fire pieces. Each has a different look and feel, so samples matter. A stone that looks calm in the showroom can change in your own light, next to your flooring, kitchen or fireplace. That is why we link the furniture range closely to the colours and finishes page and offer samples before you commit.

At the Solihull showroom, you can see stone samples, discuss edges and finishes, and talk through how the furniture relates to the fireplace side of the business. If you already have a Sontuoso fireplace, or you are planning one, the furniture can be chosen to sit with it rather than compete with it.

That connection is useful in open-plan rooms, where the table, fireplace, hearth and kitchen surfaces are all seen together. Matching everything exactly is not always the answer, but the materials should feel considered.

Made to order, delivered with access in mind

Because the furniture is made to order, the useful questions come early: where it will go, how it will be used, what size the room can take, and how it will get into place. A dining table has different access needs from a side table. An outdoor table needs a sensible route through gates, paths or side access. We ask about those details before the piece is made.

This is also why we do not treat furniture as a catalogue-only product. A table can look right in a photograph but still be awkward in a real home if the scale, finish or access has not been thought through. From enquiry to finished furniture

The useful starting point is a room photo, a rough size and where the piece needs to go. For a dining table, we look at chair space and how people move around the room. For coffee and side tables, we look at sofa height, fireplace position and whether the table needs to sit quietly or become the main feature. For outdoor furniture, the route through the garden can be as important as the table top.

Once the route is clear, we narrow the material. Porcelain and indoor quartz each have a different look and feel. Some finishes are calmer and easier to place beside busy flooring or a marble fireplace. Others have more pattern and need a simpler room around them. Samples help because stone is never judged properly from a screen.

The workshop then makes the piece to the agreed size and finish. Because the work is made to order, we would rather check awkward details early: a narrow hallway, an upstairs room, a tight garden gate or a base that needs to be assembled in place. Those details are not problems if they are known before making starts.

Living with stone furniture

Stone furniture is chosen because it has weight, surface depth and a more permanent feel than timber or veneer. It still needs to suit everyday life. A family dining table, a side table beside a sofa and an outdoor terrace table all have different practical needs, so we talk about use before steering you towards a material.

Care advice depends on the finish and where the piece will live. Indoor and outdoor use are different, and a table used every day will need different thinking from a side table that mostly holds a lamp. We will explain the care route for the material you choose rather than giving one generic rule for every stone.

If you are also planning a fireplace, hearth or fire pit table, it is worth discussing the furniture at the same time. The pieces do not have to match exactly, but they should sit comfortably together in the same room or garden.
