Two bespoke limestone fireplaces in Henley-in-Arden

This Henley-in-Arden home was being renovated across two living rooms, and the customer wanted matching fireplaces made to their own design. The two surrounds needed to feel connected, but each room still needed its own subtle differences.

The customer had already chosen their gas fires, so Sontuoso Stone’s role was to manufacture the limestone surrounds to suit the rooms and the fires. Both fireplaces were handcrafted in Antalya Turkish limestone, using the customer’s design as the starting point.

The local setting

Henley-in-Arden sits within Warwickshire, close to the wider Stratford-upon-Avon area we serve. Homes in and around the town often have characterful rooms where a standard fireplace can feel too generic. For this project, the customer wanted the fireplaces to sit naturally within a renovated home rather than look like catalogue pieces added at the end.

The brief

Made to measure

Both fireplaces were handcrafted in Antalya Turkish limestone. The customer’s design gave the overall direction, but each surround was made to the exact dimensions of its room and tailored to accommodate the chosen gas fire.

This is where bespoke manufacture matters. Even when two fireplaces share the same material and design language, the room width, opening, fire and surrounding detail can all affect the final proportions. The work was not about forcing two identical items into different spaces. It was about making two related pieces that belonged where they were fitted.

The finish
